Me and Martha

I swear, it's a LOVE/HATE relationship we have, me and Martha! I want to hate her, but I can't help but love her! She's so stinkin' talented... I hate her guts! Just kidding! I love her. Not. Yes. No. I think it all comes down to one thing...
I just want to be HER!

Here is what she has just "thrown together" for us for Valentines Day!

I used to hate her because I thought she was "too" perfect but where would any of us be without her? We all want to be her or at least like her! Great post!

I am in awe of her ideas! LOVE the felt fortune cookies, I might make those for my son's preschool Valentines day treats. I learned something about her that made me idolize her a lot less, though. Apparently she missed her own daughter's wedding because she was out promoting her own book-which was about weddings! Thinking about that helps me put things in perspective. :)

My hubs just can't get over the fact that she is still so famous and was in prison. What do you do? She is Martha, know it all, do it all! winks- jen

Love this! I had a blog entry a few months ago about Martha, too. Here's my take on it:

She's fabulous. Just remember, she has an EXTREMELY large staff - including MANY assistants to help her do all these things.... as well as TONS of researchers and editors that actually find and do all these things for her to claim as her own. I do love her. I always have. And I was alone (at family functions when we'd discuss her) when I used to say that she'd get out of prison and be bigger and better than before, and darnitall if I wasn't right about that one thing. I'm hanging on to that shining moment. haha! ;) She is brilliant... but she DEFINITELY doesn't do it on her own. ;)

Oh, Martha. I love her. I hate her. I too want to be her. Mostly though, I want to have a STAFF of people to do my bidding and make me look good. :)

I love watching Martha too. I am going to show my age and say I have watched since the beginning, through many set changes, perfectionist moments and now with a huge staff. I had a realization check way back when at one of her farms she was showing how to plant trees etc... and had helpers doing all of the work, while she talked about it. That is when it hit me, duh. She does not do this ALL by herself, but she is still a very resourceful person. I still do love to watch her and her staff (which she now credits) show us how to do sooo many things.
PS. I still have old magazine, before she went to prison, in a box in my garage. How pitiful is that?

I have a love-hate relationship with Martha too... I LOVE her work... But I don't really like HER. Great, now I'll be despised by Martha lovers everywhere... Oh well! :)

I aspire to be Martha LOL I'd really just love to see what she could do with my supplies and the time I don't have!
