Love Is Spoken Here

{Made By Me Monday}
pinterest inspired

I'm beginning to LOVE Mondays! I use my pinterest inspirations as a push to get some of the projects done that I've been wanting to do! This sign was one of the signs that I loved and knew that we needed it for our house. It fits us perfectly! I know that I just did a stencil project last week using vinyl lettering, but I couldn't resist one more for this week.

I just used an average piece of 11" pine wood board that I had laying in my garage and cut it to 41" long. First thing I did was paint it black, because I wanted my letters to be black when the vinyl came off of it. While that was drying, I cut out my vinyl lettering that I would use as a stencil.

I added my vinyl to my black board.

I used this slate blue spray paint. I LOVE the 2x coverage Rust-oleum, it covers GREAT!

I painted the entire board, right over the vinyl.

After it's dry, start peeling off your vinyl.

This is always the exciting part for me seeing the color come through! It's like Christmas! :)

It's done. Now, of course I wanted to distress it! My 10 year old says "leave it alone!" LOL!

And the finished piece! I LOVE it!

It was a super easy project and the best part is...
it cost me nothing!
FREE!
That is my favorite kind of project!
And I figured this project was very fitting considering that tomorrow is LOVE DAY!
XOXO!

Pallet Wall Art

Made By Me MONDAY!
________________
I have been SOOOO excited to make this one! I found this on pinterest a couple of weeks ago and just KNEW that I had to make one for myself! I absolutely love it! Although we didn't actually make this sign out of pallets, that would work perfect too. We bought cheap wood fence slats at Home Depot. We bought six of them for $10... can't beat that! (this is my husband's hairy arm, not mine! LOL)
We cut them each at 35" long. I wanted this thing B.I.G. The final sign ended up being 35" long by 33" tall.
then we cut two extra pieces to brace the pieces and hold the whole thing together. We laid the whole thing out before we started nailing.
We used these AWESOME nails that have little ridges on them, so they are sure to hold.
Then we started nailing this puppy together! :)
It went super fast and was way easy to put it together!
I cut my vinyl lettering and weeded it the opposite way than normal, taking out the letters and leaving the sheet.
It doesn't look pretty at this point, but it WILL!! The vinyl acts as a stencil, so it doesn't matter what color vinyl you use because it's going to come off anyway.
Just make sure that there are NO open edges on the board, and then spray paint away!
After your paint has dried, carefully take off the vinyl sheet exposing your wording. It's like Christmas!
This collage will show that's as
easy as 1,2,3
Next, I wanted to give it a sanded look so I lightly sanded over the entire project. You can see that the word "love" hasn't been sanded yet. BIG difference...
I LOVE the distressed look... so then I added some stain too!
I really do LOVE the way it turned out!

aDOORable frame!
This round was a little bit more stressful for me because the options were practically ENDLESS of what I could do for "home decor". I've had a door sitting in my office for about 2 years, and I've wanted to do something with it! Well, this was my chance! I knew exactly what I wanted to do! The door is paned with 10 windows... perfect for what I needed!! I painted it black, sanded it, enlarged some aDOORable pictures of my boys, made a super fun collection of prints! Since the door is black, I decided to do all of the pictures in black and white, as well. I LOVE the way it turned out! I hope you do too!
I will post a tutorial soon!
GO VOTE!!
