facebook dilemma

So, it's been brought to my attention by one of my good friends that I should have a facebook FAN page instead of a personal page where people have to ask to be my friend. She says this makes it easier for you to just click LIKE and your become an automatic friend! :) The only problem is, all of those thousands 100 friends I have built up, will have to LIKE my page too. Is that a pain for them? Will they even bother?
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
  • Should I delete my personal facebook page named SassySites AndCrafts and "open up shop" as Sassy Sites on facebook?
  • What do you like better?
ps. I secretly think my friend is correct in her thinking,
but don't tell her that...
:)

  1. Hi There, Why don't you have both and slowly but surly everyone can come on over to the new fan page. I don't think it is a pain in the butt if I have to go over to a new page for you!! Hope that helps! Hugs & Smiles, Dannette

  2. I would keep your personal Sassy Sites facebook for a short while as a way to direct your friends to like your Sassy Sites page. I have a personal page (Kassi Laney) and a Truly Lovely page for my blog. It's much easier to work with. You can just log into facebook as yourself and then click over to your blog page. No having to log back out and re-log in as Sassy Sites. You can shoot me an email if you need help! I would be happy to assist! ;)

  4. I have both, too. It truly is easier. They link together and when I comment on anything it is ME, but when I am in turbobubblegum I am them. Weird, but seriously simple.

  6. Really you should set up a fan page. It's actually against Facebook policy for a website/business to maintain a personal page. If they found it they could delete it. Better to start over with a page when you are only at 100. It gets much worse when you have more friends/fans.

  7. I like what Kassi said. I'm in charge of some fan pages for my internship & it's so convenient. I haven't decided if I want a fan page for my blog yet or not though...

  9. Yep, do a fan page. I think it makes it seem more official. :)

  10. I find it easier to navigate your blog, I put like on facebook and when I tried to click in and see the pumps it came up on another page, and wouldn't click in. I am not too computer savy, but I was navigating the blog fine.

  11. Having a fan page is WAY easier! I have a personal page (which I had before I even started blogging) but started a fan page for my blog and business through my personal page. Its easy and like someone mentioned above me, you dont have to log in or out.. you just click account options and switch to use facebook as a fan page. PLus is a lot easier for fans to get to you too.. all they have to is click the like button and they are automatically a friend! So fun and easy for everyone! I say go for the fan page! :)
