Cover Your Can!

Some of you might remember me posting about THIS.
But for those of you who missed it, I will do a quick recap... with a
surprise at the end!
______________
I found THIS blog one day while I was browsing around the craft world. I fell in love instantly and have never strayed! She seriously has The. Cutest. Ideas. Ever.
introducing:
*quick story....
My husband is a driver for U.P.S. and every time
I see "Brown Paper Packages" I think of my husband! :)
Now... back to the crafts!

These are the adorable twine covered cans that she created.
And today, I created one too!
These are her step by step instructions. And well... they're perfect! :)
Cover your can with twine, using thin streams of hot glue to hold it in place. I only used hot glue every once in awhile, making sure to secure the beginning and end really well. I didn't want to glob it down with too much glue. Pull the twine tightly, and wrap it well, and it will stay in place.
(I covered my can with twine once and then went back over it again to fill in the cracks.)

Using the glue gun, adhere ribbon to the top and bottom rims of the can.
Create your label, and mat on card stock and scrapbook paper. I printed mine on the computer, but you could use vinyl lettering, foam stamps, or other method of lettering. Distress all edges.

Punch holes in the sides of your label, and tie ribbon in a knot through the hole.
Attach the label to the twine, using the small safety pins. Ta-da!
_____________________
So, the only things that I did different was:
I didn't add the ribbon at the top and bottom. I didn't distress the edges. And I didn't use safety pins, I just wrapped the ribbon the whole way around the can.

My son told me today that his teacher uses a plastic cup to put her pencils in...
I think my son's teacher will like this!
