Guest Post- Simply Designing

I am so excited to be guest posting today at Sassy Sites!
I am Ashley, the face and voice behind Simply Designing.
My blog is a fun, active blog that covers everything from crafts to interior design, recipes to floral design, home decor to seasonal items.  I also write a lot of tutorials.  In addition, I host a weekly Friday link up party.

In addition I write a column twice a month for a local newspaper.  And my local Fox news station also has invited me to do a regular segment on their morning show so you can find links to those segments on my blog about twice a month.  It is a lot of fun!  So I keep very busy around here, but most of all, I like to keep things SIMPLE!

Here are a few of my recent posts:

But today, I would like to share with you a tutorial for a new Felt Hair Flower!  (PS - this tutorial has never before been shown on my blog so you get a sneak peak!!)
I've made a lot of hair flowers on my blog...but this is a new one, with a slight St. Patrick's Day twist!  So I hope you enjoy it!

First, here's how to make the felt flower:
  1. Cut a large circle out of felt and make the edges wavy.
  2. Starting at an outside edge, cut a spiral out of the circle using a wavy cut.  Leave a small circle in the center uncut.
  3. Starting at the outside end, roll the felt until a rosette is formed.  Continue to roll until the entire piece is rolled.
  4. Hot glue the small circle to the bottom of the flower to keep the flower together.
Next you need to line your alligator clip.  I am sure a lot of you know how to line an alligator clip, but if you don't, you can check out my tutorial here!  I chose to use a green ribbon on my alligator clip so that it would work for St. Patrick's Day, but you can use any color you want to of course. Then you will hot glue your felt flower to your alligator clip and voila!  Instant St. Patrick's Day hair bling!!
Don't you love how this turned out?!

Thanks so much for letting me guest post today!  I truly enjoyed it!  I hope you will stop by to see my at my blog Simply Designing!

If you would like to see more of my creations, you can find me at my blog Simply Designing, through my RSS feed, on Facebook, on Twitter @SimplyDesigning and via Email Subscription (I promise only one email per day and I never give out or sell your information.)
