VALENTINE Minute to Win It

I was in charge of the Valentine party this year for my son's 5th grade classroom. First of all, I had every intention of taking pictures of each game that we played on Friday, but when I got there and had the games ready to go, I grabbed my camera only to notice that it had NO memory card in it. UGH!! I tried taking pictures without a memory card and it said "full"... double UGH! Needless to say, I have none of my own pictures from our party. I was so sad!! So, I've gathered some pictures from around blog land to give you an idea of what each individual game looks like.  If you click on the image source below each picture, that will take you to another great site that also did a minute to win games!
I used the ideas from the actual game show and just tweaked things a little so it would fit our party. This was such a FUN party and my son after school came up to me and told me that it was the best class party EVER!! yeah! I'm excited to share our list of games with you!_______________________HEART STACKYou have 60 seconds and a pile of Valentine conversation candy hearts. Stack the candy as tall as you can without it falling over. If it falls over, you start again. At the end of one minute, the tallest tower of hearts wins! image sourceOR image source ________________________MARSHMALLOW TOSSWe played this game with six players at a time. Place a cup for each player on a table. Have the players take 4 steps back and hand them a handful of marshmallows. Tossing the marshmallows into the cups one at a time, the player with the most marshmallows in his cup at the end of 60 seconds wins! It's not as easy as it sounds!! This game would also be fun to do with a partner, throwing the marshmallows into their mouths! image source___________________________LOVE SPOTThis is FUN game played using a pom pom (love spot) and Vaseline. Have each player dab a bit of Vaseline on the end of his nose and hand them a pom pom ball. The first player to make the pom pom stick to their nose is the winner. I thought this one would take at least a minute... within 10 seconds, 5 of the students in the classroom had their pom pom stuck to their noses. It was tons of fun! image source________________________HEART PICK UPUsing two pencils as chopsticks, each player tries to transfer as many Valentine heart candies from one plate to another. The player with the most candies on her plate after one minute wins! image source___________________________COOKIE FACEThis is a popular game played at most minute to win it parties! Everyone gets a cookie and places it on their forehead. They have one minute to try and get their cookie from their forehead to their mouths without using their hands! image source_________________________CANDY CORN STICK UPThis game was a lot of fun! The object is to bite off the end of the candy corn and stick it to the plate making a circle (on most paper plates there will be an indented line to follow). After 60 seconds, the player that got the farthest around the plate wins. Or you could have the player who finishes first wins!

____________________PINK MUMMY This game is played like the game Dizzy Mummy. With a partner, you have 60 seconds to wrap the other person up in pink Valentine Crete paper. The only rule is that the "mummy" can't move. Since we were doing this in a classroom, I figured that would keep the injuries to a minimum. :)  image source ______________________The last thing that I had the students do while I was getting cookie plates ready for them was LOVE NOTE IN A BALLOON. I gave each person a strip of paper and a pink balloon and told them to write a LOVE NOTE on the strip of paper to someone that they care about. After they are done, they roll the strip of paper up and stick it in the balloon. They can then blow up their balloon and give their love note to someone on Valentine's Day! A lot of the kids wrote messages to their moms, I thought that was so sweet!
Overall, it was a GREAT PARTY! Hopefully this will help you with some ideas that you can use to do your own Valentine's Day party with your kids! They will love it! This is what the classroom looked like throughout the entire party! Unfortunately I can't show you the actual kids from my son's class... UGH again! So, these cute kids are from THIS classroom!
